The Archive and Depository in Lešetice manages the fund of the former Institute of Marxism-Leninism of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Czech Republic, which mainly contains social science literature in the final total of 290 000 volumes of books. It consists of literature on the international labor movement and communist movement and the so-called prohibita acquired during the censorship period.

The library primarily offers its users search services and the interlibrary loan service (ILL). More information about the ILL can be found below.

Currently, the library is carrying out retro-cataloging of the collection, which can be searched using the discovery service UKAŽ. The library is also contributing with its share to the creation of the Union Catalogue of the Czech Republic and the Authority Database of the National Library of the Czech Republic. Protection and conservation of the fund is also carried out.

Interlibrary loan service

The Central Library of Charles University provides an interlibrary loan service (ILL) only for units located in the detached workplace of the Central Library of the Charles University in Lešetice. Requirements for the ILL of faculty libraries and parts of the Charles University are handled by individual libraries.

The principles of providing interlibrary loan service of the Central Library of the CU:

• Libraries apply for ILL by filling out an electronic form – see below.
• External users must apply for ILL through the professional or public library at their workplace where they are registered readers.
• Publications borrowed within the ILL are intended exclusively for face-to-face study in the library that applied for the ILL.
• We charge postage and packaging for ILL.
