The above systems will not be available at this time.
For library service users, this means:
- The Discovery system UKAŽ and the eResources Portal will not be available
- The eResources Portal will be temporarily replaced by a list of links to subscription databases (see below)
- You will not be able to search for documents (both print and electronic)
- You will not be able to make loan requests
- You will not be able to renew loans (no loan will expire during the outage)
- The user account will not be available
- You will not be able to access e-resources via UKAŽ and the eResources Portal
- The Electronic application for the use of the services of Charles University libraries will not be available
- The Find It @CUNI and CUNI buttons in databases (e.g. Web of Science and Google Scholar) will not work

Can I return the books?
This is a holiday weekend when CU libraries are closed. If the library from which you have borrowed documents allows it, you can use the bibliobox.
Will I be able to renew my loans?
No. However, none of your loans will end between 05.07 and 15.07, so renewing your loans during the outage should not be urgent. Remember that if you are already overdue on a loan, the days of downtime still count towards the days when the document should have been returned. So, return your loans on time.
Will I be able to apply for the services of Charles University libraries?
No. Wait for your application until Monday, 14 July 2025.
How can I access e-resources if not via UKAŽ or the eResources Portal?
Some e-resource providers allow access via an institutional login. This type of access allows consuming subscribed content outside of UKAŽ and the eResources Portal. You will usually find it in the top right corner as Sign in via Institution or Institution login.
You will also be able to use the Emergency eResources Portal to access databases and full-text collections of e-books and e-journals. Note that this list of links is valid only during the outage. After the outage is over, use UKAŽ or the eResources Portal again.
Searching for individual titles will not be possible until the outage is over. Please note, if you are used to using Google Scholar, access via the Find It @ CUNI button will also not work.
We expect the most critical moment for UKAŽ and the eResources Portal to occur on Saturday.

The systems are up and running despite a period of outage. What happened?
The outage has several time windows with varying impacts. Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee the exact time or that if the systems are working now, they will be working in 10 minutes.
